The city advertising column is transformed in a pedestal for contemporary art. The shopping mall Breda & Wenstein (1927-1928) by architect Leopold Baure is an example of an interesting artistic solution of an object with a commertial purpose. Nowadays, it is neighbouring a banal city advertising column. The author understand this column as a challenge to an intervention to the public space and a promotion as a place for a statue. Can a advertising eye-catcher change when it becomes a pedestal for a statue?
