dedicated to public space and promoting cooperation between inhabitants and architects since 2003.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>EXHIBITIONS AT V\u00fdznamn\u00fdm prvkem festivalu v\u00a0roce 2014 se staly land-artov\u00e9 instalace na \u017eelezni\u010dn\u00edch vozech, kter\u00e9 v\u00fdrazn\u011b o\u017eivili postindustri\u00e1ln\u00ed stav t\u00e9to lokality. I v leto\u0161n\u00edm ro\u010dn\u00edku budou vyzv\u00e1n\u00ed p\u0159edn\u00ed \u010de\u0161t\u00ed um\u011blci a studenti, aby reagovali na genia loci NN\u017d.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><br \/>\nPAST EVENTS:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>JOIN \u2013 THE SOFA EXPIRIENCE<br \/>\n8\/6\u201326\/6\/2015<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>V\u00edt\u011bzn\u00e9 n\u00e1m\u011bst\u00ed, Praha 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A 62.1-metre-long urban sofa is the focal point of Aarhus\u00a0Festival\u2019s project \u2018The Sofa Experience\u2019. In 2015, the sofa\u00a0will travel around the world and collect stories from the\u00a0people it encounters along the way, and at the end of\u00a0August it will return to the Aarhus Festival.<br \/>\n\u2013<br \/>\nDesigned by landscape architects Sch\u00f8nherr and produced\u00a0by urban producer Flexys, the sofa is a rethinking of urban\u00a0furniture, built of wedges called \u2018pieces\u2019. The wedges can be\u00a0combined in a myriad of ways, creating a piece of furniture, a\u00a0sculpture or a landscape element \u2013 or all these things at once.<\/p>\n<p>Aarhus Festival director Jens Folmer Jepsen says about the\u00a0idea of \u2018The Sofa Experience\u2019:\u00a0\u201c\u2018The Sofa Experience\u2019 is in line with the Festival\u2019s desire to show\u00a0the world what Aarhus is good at. It\u2019s a very effective way of\u00a0emphasising the Festival\u2019s great idea \u2013 that it is important for\u00a0people to meet, so that new music might occur.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Torben Sch\u00f8nherr, senior partner at Sch\u00f8nherr, says about\u00a0the sofa\u2019s design:\u00a0\u201cThe material gives the same freedom as a Lego brick, and thus\u00a0we can create all sorts of wonderful things. There are many\u00a0options in the design, and the sofa can constantly be made into\u00a0something else.\u201d<br \/>\n\u2013<br \/>\nA built-in light in the sofa backrest makes the urban furniture\u00a0accommodating even in the evening and night. The wedges are\u00a0created in a sustainable material and can be transported in one\u00a0container so that the impact on the environment is minimised\u00a0as much as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Aarhus Festival invites everyone who takes pictures of the sofa\u00a0and shares them on Instagram to use the hashtag \u2018sofaexp\u2019.\u00a0In this way the best photos and videos can be assembled into a\u00a0film about the sofa\u2019s world tour before next year\u2019s Festival week\u00a0in Aarhus.<\/p>\n<p>The sofa is donated by Tuborg Foundation and the sofa\u2019s world\u00a0tour is sponsored by the Corps Consulaire, Aarhus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EXHIBITIONS IN JAROSLAV FRAGNER GALLERY Shared cities 10\/7\u201326\/8\/2015 The form of the city is intimately related with democracy.
